Next Big Thing Finale

In November last year we launched the Next Big Thing concept at Liverpool University with Dr Paul Redmond, Head of Careers & Employability Service. We returned in June to judge the final – and what a challenge it was!! Four students presented their ideas and business plans in a ‘Dragons Den’ style environment, having no longer than 15 minutes to pitch. The cash prize of £4,000 was a huge incentive for the students and we were incredibly impressed with their ideas, commercial acumen and execution. Each of the four business ideas were at different stages in their lifecycle however the people behind the ideas were equally driven, inspiring and oozing with ambition. After a tough debate amongst the judges we chose Petar Dimitrov and awarded his Bulgarian Adventure Travel Company the top prize. We wish him and all the other finalists the very best and believe they will continue to build on their early success. Congratulations Petar!
